Ryan & Jana – Fernie Wedding Photographer

Island Lake Lodge is one of the most magical wedding destinations I get to go to on a regular basis.  Nestled at the top of the Cedar Valley, this stunning property is a mountain get-a-way like no other.  Ryan and Jana scored some fantastic weather, and had an amazing day surrounded by family and friends.

Sheila & Michael- Calgary Wedding Photographer

No matter how many weddings I shoot, I always find myself choking up and feeling the emotions that my clients are experiencing as they go through the amazing joys of their wedding day.  Michael and Sheila’s was no different.  From the moment Sheila put her dress on, and began to tear up, through to the end of the night when her grandpa asked to get up out of his wheelchair and have at least one dance with his granddaughter (it was very touch and go right up to the very last minute if he would even be in good enough …

Caitlin & Ian- Fernie Wedding Photographer

I met Caitlin and Ian a couple years ago at a wedding I shot at St. Eugene Mission in Kimberley BC.  Caitlin was one of the bridesmaids in that wedding party, and she loved working with me so much, she wanted to make sure I was going to be free when she got married. The ceremony and reception were at Lizard Creek Lodge.  Hair and make-up by Zoe at No.3 Judging by the expressions on the flower girl and ring bearers’ faces’, this wedding was serious business! I don’t often use flash or artificial lighting for portraits on the wedding …

Nick & Lindsay- Fernie Engagement Photography

When the days are long, and the sun sets late in the evening, I love to head out and explore areas that I haven’t shot in, or haven’t shot in a long while.  Nick and Lindsay told me that they crave adventure, so we explored the Coal Creek swimming hole.  We also swung by Maiden Lake to play around with some posed shots with the Ghostrider in the background.

Jill & Daryll- Saskatoon Wedding Photographer

I grew in Saskatoon, so it’s always a treat to get to travel back “home” to work, and visit friends and family.  This particular trip was going to be extra special, since it was for my cousin’s wedding.  I still see Jill as my little cousin, so to think of her getting married is a bit of a trip.  Daryll is a great guy.  He’s from England, but, since my wife is English, I can’t really fault him for it.  Its been pretty cool watching Jill and Daryll’s relationship evolve and mature, even if I really only saw them once …

Holly & Lisa- Fernie Engagement Photography

Holly and Lisa have a very laid back vibe about them.  When they described to me their thoughts for what they wanted out of their wedding photos, then mentioned that they wanted some engagement photos with their bikes, I was hooked.  We went for a little cruise around Fernie on their townies, and stopped for a bevy at The Livery Restaurant.  Making portraits is tough work, and required some refreshment!
